Fried pickles have always been one of my favorite appetizers. I used to love getting fried pickles from the state fair but they would always give me a stomach ache because of the deep-fried grease. This air fried recipe is a much healthier way to still satisfy that fried pickles craving.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of flour

  • ¼ cup of panko bread crumbs

  • 2 tablespoons of cornmeal

  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon of sea salt

  • ½ teaspoon of Cajun seasoning

  • ¼ teaspoon of smoked paprika

  • Pepper to taste

  • 1 cup of plant milk or water

  • About 8 oz of dill pickle chips

Preparation

Add dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix well with a fork. Add plant milk, then stir. Batter should be somewhat thick. Lay pickles out on paper towels to soak up excess liquid in order for the batter to stick. Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees. Coat pickles in batter and lay flat in the air fryer. Air fry for about 7-9 minutes, flipping midway through. Pairs deliciously with vegan ranch.
